About the game

BeatSlayer is a top-down rhythm roguelite in the bullet heaven style. You fly a small ship through a swarm of neon shapes while the music plays, and everything on screen moves to that music: enemies spawn on the beat, every drop sends in a new wave, and your weapons fire in time with the track. You steer and dash. The weapons do the shooting.

Upgrades drop during every song. There are 53 weapons and each levels up to 8. Bring two of them to level 7 and they fuse into a single new weapon, mid-song: there are 1,378 fusions to find.

The campaign is a map of branching routes across three acts. Each act has its own swarm (orange shards, gold blades, crimson eyes) and a boss at the end. Your health, weapons and relics carry from song to song. Beat the campaign and Endless unlocks, with a weekly setlist and a leaderboard.

In short

  • Every enemy moves on the beat, and every drop sends in a new wave.
  • 53 weapons, 1,378 fusions. Two level-7 weapons fuse into one, mid-song.
  • Four ships that fly differently, and four risky starting deals from a boombox with legs.
  • Three acts, three swarms, three bosses. 29 songs in all.
  • Chill, Normal and Hard, 25 relics, and Endless after the campaign.
